Found an app in Windows 10 (installed it a few months ago but it crashed my hard disk. Seems ok for now)
I was fascinated with the app so I decided to do a bit of research. There’s no need for fanciful Kickstarter 3D scanners (but possibly fanciful Kickstarter 3D printers)
Basically you can use your Kinect camera to scan the object of desire and have it printed (granted this is a video from Microsoft and I have not tested this — my 3D printer is still being produced by Pirate 3D… urgh) but it seems to hold a lot of promise. Also gives an idea what Microsoft is planning in their pipeline
