Pointing to different databases in Evernote

Had a call to help someone who had lost their local notebooks in Evernote earlier today.

This guy was meticulous and backed up his stuff very frequently and password protected most of the stuff (He’s German, really have to learn from them)

Anyways, wanted to document the steps for future:

1. Create a temporary folder (just in case you fuck up)
2. All database files are .exb (normal exports are .enex)
3. Open evernote and go to the menu: tools > options > general > evernote local files

The regedit option

1. Once you have your temporary folder point the default database folder to the temporary folder in Regedit (remember to copy the default value first)
2. HKEY_CURRENT_USERS > SOFTWARE > Evernote > EvernotePath
3. Change the value
4. Close evernote and restart
