Ex IBMer here. My personal view is that IBM was known for quality delivery in the past. But the Watson debacle was due to sales pressures and over marketing that led to unrealistic ability to deliver what customers expected.

Talent attraction and retention is a key issue for the company in my view. And for AI it is already a bloody talent war to find the right people to fulfill promises 😅
